Welcome to Newsbox Fireworks. By purchasing products from us, using our website, or placing an order through our Mail Order or Click & Collect services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Newsbox Fireworks is committed to the safe, responsible and legal sale of fireworks throughout the United Kingdom.

General Terms

Firework Safety and Legal Compliance

All fireworks supplied by Newsbox Fireworks comply with applicable UK legislation and recognised safety standards.

The sale, storage, transport and use of fireworks are subject to relevant UK laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Fireworks Regulations 2004
  • Explosives Regulations 2014
  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • Any subsequent amendments, updates or replacement legislation

Fireworks must always be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and all applicable laws.

Age Restrictions

It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under 18 years of age.

It is illegal for any person under the age of 18 to possess fireworks in a public place.

Newsbox Fireworks operates a strict Challenge 25 policy and reserves the right to request proof of age before completing any sale.

Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Valid Passport
  • PASS Approved Proof of Age Card

Orders may be cancelled or refused where satisfactory proof of age cannot be provided.

Customer Responsibilities

The purchaser is responsible for:

  • Using fireworks safely and responsibly
  • Following all manufacturer instructions
  • Ensuring suitable firing locations are used
  • Complying with all local regulations
  • Obtaining any required permissions, licences or insurance

Newsbox Fireworks accepts no responsibility for damage, injury or loss resulting from misuse, negligence or failure to follow safety instructions.

Refusal of Sale

Newsbox Fireworks reserves the right to refuse any sale, order or collection where we reasonably believe:

  • The purchaser is under 18 years of age
  • The purchase may breach applicable legislation
  • Fraudulent activity is suspected
  • The transaction creates a safety concern
  • Required age verification cannot be completed

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failure to fulfil obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather
  • Industrial action
  • Transport disruption
  • Supplier shortages
  • Government restrictions
  • Fire, flood or power failure
  • Other unforeseen events

Pricing and Payment

Product Pricing

All prices displayed are in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

Prices may change without prior notice.

While we make every effort to ensure pricing accuracy, errors may occasionally occur. If a pricing error is identified after an order is placed, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

Payment Methods

We currently accept:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • PayPal

We do not currently accept:

  • American Express
  • Cards registered outside the United Kingdom

No credit or debit card information is stored by Newsbox Fireworks.

Fraud Prevention

All orders are subject to verification and security checks.

We reserve the right to delay, cancel or refuse any order where payment verification cannot be completed or fraudulent activity is suspected.

Personal Information and Privacy

Data Protection

Customer information is stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

Personal information will never be sold or disclosed to third parties except:

  • Where required to fulfil an order
  • To approved delivery providers
  • Where required by law
  • To law enforcement agencies when legally requested

Product Availability

Stock Availability

All products and promotions are subject to availability.

We reserve the right to withdraw products without notice.

Product Substitutions

Where a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we may offer a suitable substitute of equal or greater value.

Customers will be contacted where appropriate before substitutions are made.

Damaged, Faulty or Misfiring Fireworks

Reporting a Problem

If you believe a product is faulty, damaged or has failed to function correctly, please contact us as soon as possible.

Investigation of Faulty Products

Newsbox Fireworks may request additional information, photographs or the return of the product for inspection.

Refunds, replacements or credits may be offered where a genuine manufacturing fault is identified.

Exclusions

Claims resulting from the following may not be accepted:

  • Misuse
  • Improper storage
  • Failure to follow instructions
  • Water damage
  • Deliberate damage
  • Modification of the product

Minor variations in firing duration, effects or shot count may occur and shall not automatically be considered defects.

Mail Order Terms and Conditions

Delivery Areas

We currently deliver to mainland England, Scotland and Wales.

We do not deliver to:

  • Northern Ireland
  • Isle of Man
  • Channel Islands

Delivery Requirements

A person aged 18 or over must be present to accept delivery.

Valid age verification may be required.

If no eligible person is available to accept delivery, the order may be returned and additional delivery charges may apply.

Delivery Times

We will make every reasonable effort to deliver within the selected timeframe.

Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed and may be affected by circumstances outside our control.

Risk and Responsibility

Responsibility for the goods passes to the customer once delivery has been completed and signed for.

Bonfire Night Delivery Cut-Off

To maximise the likelihood of delivery before 5th November, orders should be placed before 28th October.

Orders placed after this date will be processed as normal but delivery before Bonfire Night cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations and Returns

Cancelling an Order Before Dispatch

Orders cancelled before dispatch will receive a full refund.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email or post.

Refusing Delivery

If an order has already been dispatched, customers may refuse delivery.

Returned orders may be refunded less any delivery, collection or administrative charges incurred.

Returning Goods

Due to the hazardous nature of fireworks, returns can only be arranged through authorised carriers approved by Newsbox Fireworks.

Standard postal services must not be used.

Returned goods must:

  • Be unused
  • Be undamaged
  • Be in their original packaging
  • Include all original components
  • Be suitable for resale

Collection and return charges may be deducted from any refund.

Statutory Rights

Nothing within these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Click and Collect Terms and Conditions

Click and Collect Service

Our Click and Collect service allows customers to reserve products online for collection from our retail premises.

Payment

Payment is made in-store when collecting your order.

We do not currently accept online payment for Click and Collect orders.

Collection Requirements

The person collecting the order must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Provide valid identification if requested
  • Attend the agreed collection time

Orders not collected within 7 days may be cancelled.

Product Availability

Where products become unavailable, we may offer a suitable substitute of equal or greater value.

Customers may decline substitute products.

Final Sales

Due to the hazardous nature of fireworks and pyrotechnic products, we cannot accept returns for unwanted goods purchased in-store or collected through Click and Collect.

This does not affect your statutory rights regarding faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.

Defective Products

If a product is believed to be defective, please contact:

We will investigate the matter and, where appropriate, provide a replacement, refund or alternative remedy.

Website Content and Intellectual Property

Ownership of Content

All content displayed on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images and product descriptions, remains the property of Newsbox Fireworks unless otherwise stated.

No content may be copied, reproduced or distributed without prior written permission.

Limitation of Liability

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such limitation would be unlawful.

Subject to this, Newsbox Fireworks shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the purchase, delivery or use of products supplied.

Governing Law

Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
